Acer Iconia Tab A510 to come with 4 core processor

Acer is all set to launch its first quad-core tablet at the Mobile World Congress 2012 on February 26. The Acer Iconia Tab series will get a new member - Iconia Tab A510 tablet with quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor inside. This tablet has just been approved by the Federal Communications Commission and is expected to launch in Europe by March for $527 (Rs 25,900 approximately).

Acer Iconia Tab A510 features a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it will house a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor with 1GB LPDDR2 memory and 32 GB on-board storage. Quad-core processors, which have four different cores, are considered the best for multi-tasking purposes. Hence, it enhances the usability of the tablet by multifold and enables devices to run heavy games on the device with ease. Acer will offer Iconia Tab A510 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich layered with new Acer Ring user interface. Of course there will be a TegraZone which will offer direct access to the list of apps and games optimized for the Tegra platform.

When compared to the Transformer Prime, few of the differences spotted were the display, battery and the camera. The Iconia Tab A510 tablet has 5 megapixel camera at the back and front facing HD camera in the front. Other than that, the tablet will feature Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS, combo audio jack, microUSB and micro HDMI. For best audio output, Acer has incorporated Dolby Mobile 3+ with the twin stereo speakers. Compared to the Transformer Prime (590 grams), the Iconia Tab is heavy weighing 675 grams. That could be possible due to the Lithium Polymer 36.26 Watts battery used in the A510 tablet. Acer will launch this tablet in Wi-Fi Only and WiFi+3G versions.
