Toshiba Satellite Z830 Price and Specs

The 13.3-inch Toshiba Satellite Z830 is truly an ultrabook for the road. Giving us not only the lightest chassis we’ve yet seen, but also an excellent battery life, this could be the answer for frequent travellers who need a long-lasting machine full of performance for under £1,000. It sits alongside cheaper brother the Satellite Z830, which costs £899 in the UK or $849 in the US.

The Toshiba Satellite Z830 have 13.3-inch, 1366×768 screen has the hallmarks of a wide-gamut panel, with slightly exaggerated colours. It’s still TN-based, and has poor vertical viewing angles as a result, but nowhere near as bad as Asus’ ZenBook UX21.

The Toshiba Satellite Z830 comes in two variations. The Z830-10 U is the more advanced with an Intel Core i5 central processor, 6 GB worth of RAM and 128 GB SSD hard drive. Another model, the Z830-10T contains a Core i3 CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB SSD. Both come with a Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and utilized Intel HD 3000 as graphics processor. Battery life is also quite strong, managing seven hours and 40 minutes in a performance test while most ultrabook models can only last short of six hours.

Toshiba Satellite Z830 is without question the leading ultrabook in the market today. With extra ports, backlit keyboard and stellar battery life, it stands head and shoulders above competitors. While there’s still room for improvement on the screen and keyboard front, we have no hesitation in recommending the Satellite Z830 for those who want something thin and light, but still with enough power to perform daily tasks.
