Archos 97 Carbon, a 9.7-inch Android tablet, is now available for purchase. The device is set at a price of $250, and will be available with the flavors of Android ICS. The tablet offers a screen resolution of 1024×768, similar to the last year’s iPad 2, and will be coming with a single-core 1 GHz CPU.
The tablet which offers a stylish aluminum casing houses 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The storage can be expanded further with a microSD card. There will be a front facing VGA camera and a rear camera of 2MP. The device also sports a full sized USB port and can decode 1080p video. Other features of the device include micro HDMI, GPS, Wi-Fi, stereo speaker etc.
Archos now offers a $20 less for the device, and will be available for $230, if you purchase the device now. The $199.99 priced Google’s Nexus 7 is still there as an alternative, that offers the power of quad core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean etc. The choice is yours. The device is now available in US and UK.
